The Role
As a Civil Design Technician at CES, you will be directly responsible to the Manager and liaise with the relevant Project Senior Engineer to keep them fully informed on all aspects of your work and professional development.Your key responsibilities will include:
Producing accurate and consistent 2D and 3D detailed Engineering documentation, including Plans, Sections, Details, and Schedules, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software (REVIT, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D).
Ensuring all Engineering Documentation is produced in compliance with current Australian Standards, the Building Code of Australia, and relevant legislations.
Producing documents for Authority Approvals, Tender, and Construction purposes.
Liaising with Architects, other Engineers, Contractors, and sub-consultants to interpret ideas and coordinate designs across disciplines.
Undertaking engineering calculations when requested and willing to learn calculation software programs as applicable such as Dialux, Camel, Powerpac, SpaceGrass, Drains, Spanman, DesignIT, Teklar Tedds.
Preparing fee proposals, determining project budgets, and assisting with estimating and project specifications.
Attending site surveys, meetings, and project inspections, which may sometimes involve travel.
Participating in peer-to-peer design reviews and performing full self-checks of your own work.
Conducting ongoing reviews, updates, and implementation of CES CAD, REVIT, and Civil 3D protocols.
About You
The Civil Design Technician is expected to have or develop the following necessary skills:Minimum 3+ years’ experience in civil engineering drafting and design.
Excellent drafting skills in production of engineering design drawings using REVIT, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Excellent computer skills including knowledge and use of Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and on-line meeting software applications.
A high level of attention to detail and the ability to co-ordinate designs across all the engineering disciplines.
Ability to identify solutions to problems that may arise during documentation.

The Role
As the Engineering Administration Support Officer, you will provide vital administrative and operational support across our statewide operations, as well as specific support tasks for our Hobart office.Your key responsibilities will include:
-Project & Systems Administration: Setting up projects in Synergy, on the server (including relocation when unsuccessful), and within MS Teams.
Managing project timelines and hourly allocations in Synergy.
Ensuring weekly backups of planner files and managing the migration of server data.
Holding staff accountable for providing project updates on Teams.
-Engineering & Documentation Support: Preparation of Form 35s, drawing transmittals, and setting up fee submissions.
Formatting engineering reports and assisting with TasWater and plumbing permit applications.
Sorting, archiving, printing, and binding Australian Standards as required.
Scanning hard copy files to the server and printing project drawing sets for site inspections.
-HR & Marketing Support:
Assisting with recruitment processes, CV development, and capability statement development.
Preparation of the CES newsletter.
-General Office Management: Ordering stationery, IT equipment, and kitchen goods such as tea and coffee.
Coordinating travel arrangements and managing the hard hat register.
Maintaining the office environment, including watering plants, and printing/laminating contact roster lists and DND flags.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:A minimum of 1+ years’ administration experience; engineering relevant industry experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks across different systems (like Synergy and MS Teams).
